ADVANCED FUNBOOK 1 (Grades 5-8)

The Advanced Funbook was developed for teachers in grades 4-6, who wanted math activities for children in the intermediate and upper elementary grades. Middle school teachers also find the lessons useful for project -based learning. To help with student projects, one page of the Funbook has a list of suggested websites related to the topics in the books. The website list will need to be updated.

During our internal review process for this Funbook, and during teacher workshops and professional development sessions, we gathered suggestions from participating teachers. Interestingly, they made suggestions for students who needed more background help or practice, as well as suggestions for extending and enhancing the math activities for use with more accomplished students. We incorporated their suggestions, sometimes with additional worksheets or suggested activities. Refer to the Advanced Funbook Teacher’s Guide.
